Steve & Carol Johnson
Steve and Carol will be our missionary speakers at a July 2 Missions
Dinner.
Steve was the pastor of Church of the Mountains UMC in Truckee, CA, in
our
district before answering God's call to overseas missions.

Field: Khabarovsk, Russia Far East
Home State: California
Pastor Steve and Carol live in the city of Khabarovsk but serve
churches in
other cities as well in Methodist "Circuit Rider" style. Pastor Steve
has
been called to mentor, train and encourage young Russian pastors and to
work
with church leadership as well. He works individually with each pastor
creating a plan with them to meet their individual needs and the needs
of
their churches. He has been requested to preach at each church as well
so
he is definitely not bored! Pastor Steve is an elder in the
California/Nevada Conference of the United Methodist Church currently
serving in a cross-conference appointment, under Bishop Hans Vaxby, to
the
Eurasia Conference. Pastor Steve serves not only Methodist Churches
but
others as well.
Carol works primarily with Women's Ministries and she has a passion to
help
women realize just how much power Christ gives them to make a
difference in
their own lives, their families, their churches and their world. She
works
with Women's Groups, individual women throughout the city and in
churches, a
university English Club, a 1st and 2nd grade class at a Christian
school,
neighbors and even her manicurist! There are no strangers in Russia -
just
friends we have not met!
